  • Change of address in USA

    Dear Sir,

I am writing to clarify the following:

Our family has been entitled a DV / Permanent resident Visa to the USA. We are supposed to leave in early February of 2010.

At the time of the interview, we were planning to go to California and so gave the address of a friend who lives there. In the interim things have changed we are now planning to go to Texas. We also have a very good friend there who has accepted that we use her address for mailing purposes: receipt of green cards etc. However we are Not planning to actually stay in her home but quite close nearby in a temporary place: a Hotel for a couple of weeks until we move to a permanent residence which we intend to rent in more or less the same area.

    My questions are:

    1) Do we have to inform the US authorities before leaving our country? For info: Our port of entry in the USA is in Chicago as there are no direct flights to Texas.

    2) Do we need to fill in the AR-11 form or any thing else? Can you please indicate which ones?

    3) Any further suggestions or tips from you most welcome!

Thanking you in advance for your precious help.
