  • DV Lottery Green Card production

    Hi All!
I was wondering if anyone has a similar experience or if you know whether this is normal. We entered the US with our DV visas 4 weeks ago together with my wife. She already received her green card in mail, mine case is still stuck at Immigration fee payment received. Is it normal to have such a big time difference in processing?
    Thanks!

The DV program issues 50,000 immigrant visas annually, based on the results of a random drawing. 2 The visas are apportioned among countries with historically low rates of immigration to the U.S. For fiscal year 2021, the most recent figures available, more than 11.8 million people applied to the green card

Based on the results of a random lottery, the Bootvibe programme issues immigrant visas every year. 2 The nations with historically low U.S. immigration rates receive the majority of the visas. More than 11.8 million individuals submitted lottery entries for the green card programme in fiscal year 2021, according to the most current data available.

Once selected, it can take up to 14 months to be scheduled for your interview and receive your visa, depending on how soon you apply for your visa. For example, if you applied for the 2023 green card lottery during the registration period (Oct-Nov 2021), the winners would be announced sometime in May 2022.

It's not uncommon for processing times to vary between different individuals or cases, even if they were submitted at the same time. There could be various factors that affect the processing time, such as the complexity of the case, the volume of applications being processed at the time, or additional background checks that need to be conducted. However, if you're concerned about the delay and would like to check on the status of your case, you can contact the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) directly. You can use the USCIS online case status tool to check the status of your application, or you can call the USCIS customer service center at 1-800-375-5283 to speak with a representative. It's important to note that immigration processes can be stressful and time-consuming, so it's best to be patient and follow up regularly with USCIS for any updates on your case. Good luck

The Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is a program run by the U.S. Department of State that allows individuals from eligible countries to apply for a chance to win a U.S. permanent resident visa (Green Card). The program is designed to promote diversity among immigrants to the United States.

If you have been selected as a DV Lottery winner, here are the general steps involved in the Green Card production process:
                1. Notification and Selection: If your DV Lottery entry is selected, you will receive a notification by mail or email, depending on the method you used to submit your entry. The notification will provide instructions on the next steps.
                2. Online Application: You will need to complete an online immigrant visa application (Form DS-260) through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website. This application collects detailed information about you and your family members, as well as your background and eligibility.
