Entering US through a different port of entry

Hi,

I am planning to travel to US for some business meeting on 17th April. The company has given me an invitation letter to visit their San Jose, CA office for attending the meetings from 22nd to 24th April. But I am planning to Visit my brother at LA before going for the meeting. So my plan is to land in LA on 17th April and go to San Jose on 21st April. Will this be a problem as the nearest port of entry is San Francisco for my business travel. Do I have to carry any document which can convince the immigration officer ? . BTW I am planning to return from LA airport as well. I don't know if this is of any importance , this is my first travel to US. Any help is appreciated.

Yes you can enter from different port in USA but before that you have to make sure the port you choose for your brother can lead him to his destination where meeting is held.
