Can I apply for B1/B2 visa for my parents:while dependent visa H4 is under 221g

Hi,

Recently I applied for dependent visa for my wife, Chennai consulate Visa Officer took the passport and issued 221g, said administrative processing is required. Still we are waiting for reply from consulate.
Now I would like to apply visitors visa to my parents (b1/b1), is this recommended sponsor parents to go for interview while already sponsored dependent visa is under administrative processing?

Can anyone help regarding this.

They are not quite the same thing. Your wifes H-4 visa is a derivative of your H-1B visa. Each of your parents B-2 visa application stands alone. You may be assisting in defraying the expenses of their trip, but you are in no way sponsoring their visas.
