Greetings
I am a recently graduated electrical engineer from Bangladesh. During my undergraduate years I wrote a paper for conference proceeding for which I have to make it to Florida for oral presentation. Now I have graduated and am now a system design engineer at a software company for the last 6 months where my salary is BDT25000 (about USD320). I applied for B1/B2 visa on 20th January but got rejected. In the DS-160 I mentioned that my father was financing my travel. The consulate officer asked me the following questions:
Officer: What do you do?
Me: I am working as a system design engineer
Officer: How old are you?
Me: 24
Officer: Are you married?
Me: No
Officer: Who's financing your travel?
Me: My father
Officer: What? You father is financing your travel and not your company?
Me: No.
Officer: I am sorry but you do not qualify for the visa. Please reapply when your situation changes significantly.
Me: But I have to attend my conference.
Officer: I am sorry, sir.
A: Okay
With that he handed me a leaflet that says about 214 (B).
I have to make it to the conference. Now for the finance part, I convinced my company's CEO and he said he would sponsor my travel if I put the company's affiliation into the paper. I need advice on when (or whether) should I reapply and even if I reapply what should I mention in the DS-160 form. It is mandatory for me to present the paper in person. Otherwise the paper would be cancelled.
Thanks
