Name Change after marriage

I have not changed my maiden surname in passport and I am also continuing to use the same professionally. But while purchasing some property and filling my last years income tax returns I have used my husband's surname will that be a problem for visa application do I need to chang my surname in the passport? Or is it adequate to disclose it in the visa application form in the field "any other surname used".

Mentioning other surnames used in the relevant column will be sufficient.
