Apply B1 visa while L1A is in process

Hi,

I have recently applied for the L1A visa and the appointment dates are 112 calendar days from now (mid Nov). However, I have to attend some business meetings with my Clients and wanted to check if I can get a Business visa in the meantime. will it affect my L1A approval process?

PS: I have never been to the US before
