Summary of interview what yesterday i had in Chennai

Me : Hi Sir good morning
Counsellor : Hi, How are you ?
Me : good and handover the passport
Counsellor : Why are you going for US ?
Me : I want to meet my customer and understanding there requirement
Counsellor : What is your job and responsibility
Me : I am Senior Mechanical Engineer and my responsibility is project mangement
Counsellor : Which company you are working
Me : ZZZ
Counsellor : Whare are you going in US ?
Me : Indiana , Syemour , and i submitted xxx company invitation from US
Counsellor: What are you doing in xxx Company in US
Me : We have some projects from xxx US company, i need to understand and study there requirements and co-ordinate with Indian team
Counsellor : What is your salary
Me : 65K INR /month
Counsellor : How long you will be Staying in US
Me : About 18 weeks
Counsellor he is tying something for few minutes )You are not qualified for this visa, and he is given me 214(b) and told contact your HR department,

Please anyone suggest me whats goes wrong.
Now can i apply for the second time immediately ? could you please let me know the probability of rejection if i apply again same reason

18 weeks is what is wrong. Business meetings last 2 days, a week perhaps.

Going for 4-5 months and working there, is really, working there. Surely not doing that without money. That's paid employment. That's not what a business visa is for.

Plus your salary is not consistent with a senior position. They deem that it's low enough that it's not an anchor to bring you back to your home country.

If you apply again with the same circumstances, it is likely you will be rejected again.

Addition to that, how come an "Engineer" got responsibility for "Project management"?
