B1 to H1 transfer & first time stamping in Canada

My H1B was approved while I am on B1 trip and it was given without I94, consulate mensioned was Montreal, Canada. I have tried for visting visa on 5th August in Canada consulate but it was rejected because my I94 expires on august 18th 2006 while H1b starts from 1st oct 2006.I left US before my I94 expires and again I came here on 9th Oct on b1 which I have for 10yrs multiple entry,I94 given was 9th Oct 2006 to 8th Jan and applied for I539 status chg and I94 extention to VSC.My queries are

1.Is it better to go Canada right now?or shd I wait for status chg?
2.What are the possibilities I will get status chg?
