how many days i have to wait??

dear senior member,
i applied for the extension of my b1 visa,
am i going to get any receipt ? or they wil mail me reg this??
if i want to go after 1or 2 months after my expiration means i wil be not going to hear from them mean time so what i should carry ? to tell i have applied for extension ...how many days it wil take for uscis to give initial responce and final responce??

Once you apply, you will get receipt notice in 2-3 weeks.

Once you are approved (or rejected), you will get approval/rejection notice. That usually takes 3 to 4 months.
