  • Extension of B1 Visa

    Please help me

I have a multiple entry B1-visa. I entered US during July 2004. I was given I-94 till October 10th 2004. I was on a business visit and my client asked me to extend my stay for 3 more months. My client filed my extension with all necessary documents to USCIS. The entire application set was returned to me giving no indication whether extension was accepted or
rejected and there was no other communication. By the time I received back the documents I had overstayed by 16 days. If I need to re-enter US what should I do? Can I use my existing visa or should I reapply for
visa. If I reapply what are the chances of me getting a fresh.

      Hello,

1)USCIS, Dallas Texas was where I had filed the application, since I was at Tennessee.
      2) I had I-94 till October 10th 2004. The application was filed on September 24th 2004 by my client.
      3) The entire application packet was returned by USCIS, Texas on October 19th 2004.
      4) The postal envelope clearly said that it was USCIS, Dallas Texas.
      5) There was no mention on the application whether it was accepted or denied.
      6) The application had a stamp, Syncamore TN.

Shall I scan and send the application sent to USCIS? Will that help.

      Thanks and Rgds

          1) This was the address to which it was sent U.S.Citizenship and Immigration Services

          Texas Service Center
          8101 North Stemmons Freeway
          Dallas, Texas 75247

          Is this incorrect address?

          2) Should I apply for a new visa to reenter? If yes what are the precautions I need to take?

          Thanks and Rgds

It may be a problem in entering USA again. It is very subjective and
                difficult to say for sure.

You should go back to VFS and explain them your visa is supposed to be
void and you need new one.

If they tell you otherwise, (which they shouldn't), you should ask them to
confirm it from the consulate and if possible, get a letter or explaination
from consulate that you don't need new visa (which actually need).

Anyone can not just apply for L1 visa like that.

                        Read https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visas/l1/ for details.

Do they entertain personal enquiries other than visa appointment.

Why do you need to go to VFS in Chennai?

There is one in Bangalore on St. Marks Road. Look at
                            https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visas/usa-visa-application-centers-india.html

It would be just like new appointment and there is no separate counter for that.
