Updation on DS forms

Are updation on DS 156 or DS 157 tracked by the consulate?
If yes, how serious are they about tracking the updation?

editing the DS forms will not be monitored by the consulate. only the datails in the DS forms which will be submited to the consulate during the interview will be cross verified by the consular.
