221g B1 visa

I got interviewed on 13th july 2009 for B1 visa at Mumbai.
i got a yellow 221g letter stating, your application is put for administartive investigation, i was told that i will get a mail after the administrative investigation is done.
on 17th july 2009 i got a mail stating:

Dear Sir/Madam,
This is to inform you that the administrative process for your US non-immigrant visa application has been received.
You DO NOT require scheduling another appointment. Please visit the VFS office with your yellow pending letter, passport and yellow envelope. YOU do not need to come to the CONSULATE.
If you have be given a white pending (221g) letter you need to come to the consulate any working day at 9.30 am with your passport, yellow envelope and documents pertaining to your application.


i submitted my passport on 20th july 2009 to the VFS office and on 23rd july i got my passport back containing the same yellow 221g form and no visa.

Please update if anyone had gone through such a situation.

You need to check out with the Consulate about your status.

U are lucky at least u the email in 4 days .. I am still waiting ... since 15 days .. for the same email .... Whats the current status of ur vis ... has it been done....
What check they actually do man ....

I think many of the Muslim folks are being handed over 221g. Even I got a 221g and then received an email from the consulate in 2 weeks after interview.

They approved my Visa after admin processing.

Hopefully you will get an email soon.

Rcvd e-mail after 5 weeks

I recieved e-mail after 5 weeks .. asking me to submit my passport and other stuff to nearest VFS office. I have done that ... In how many days can I expect the stammped Passport back.... any idea ?

I got it in 4 days after submitting my Passport and the 221g form.

I am facing the same case as yours. Got my passport and yellow form again without the visa today.

What are the updates from your side. Did you contact the consulate about this and what did they say? I will be visiting the consulate on monday.
