  • B1 - Can't your activity be done from offshore

Is this fine to say - I need to travel to the US to capture project requirements . Please reply ASAP. My interview is close.

Seems like a valid reason. Though I might say something to the effect of "attend product requirement elicitation/gathering meetings" or attend several meetings to gather product requirements. If asked why it can't be done from offshore I might say "Follow up meetings are possible from offshore, but for the initial meetings, it helps to meet as many stakeholders face to face as possible". (I am a requirements engineer)

It depends on your designation, an PM can visit USA for capturing requirements, but an engineer doesn't really makes sense.
