Impact on B1/B1 VISA if we change surname in passport

I am planning to change surname in passport. In my case I use "Sk" in all documents like PAN, Adhar, Voter ID and educational documents. But my passport has expanded short name "Sekh" and I have B1/B2 VISA with surname same in passport. Please note that "Sk" is short name of "Sekh" and both are same. I will get a new passport with this change(surname "Sk"). Do I need to reapply for B1/B2 VISA freshly or existing VISA is still valid?

Your visa will be still valid, but you'll need to prove that both names belong to you only at POE.
