  • Married to US citizen - How can I change my B1/B2 to a temp work visa?

    Hi,

I've being married to an US citizen for about 1 and a half years, but we both don't live in the US, but we want to work in the US for about 6 months to a year. I am Brazilian and my husband is natural from Australia, although his father is American therefore, he holds a US passport:

a- Do I have to apply for a green card or is there a easier and quicker visa type that I can apply to? I don't intend to live in the US permanently as I am an Australian resident.

b- I already hold a B1 visa, I know I can't work with it and I have already read it in another post that I'm not advised to enter the US with the B1 and try to change the status while in the country. Although when I read this post it wasn't saying that this person was married to a US citizen, does this change the situation?

I am in transit doing some consulting work in Guadalajara, but a really nice offer came up in Miami, that I need to answer ASAP.

    Please advise!!!

    Thanks a lot indeed,

    Best Regards,

    RL
