Want to take wife along on B1visa

I am working for Software Company
I had a B1 visa validity for 2 years from 2005 to 2007, on which i travelled and returned in 2 months
Now I have joined a new company and the company is sending me to US for 2 months on B1 again
I dont have valid B1 and my company has got me the invitation letter to process my B1
My company is not sponsoring my wife or is not providing any invitation letter for my wife
But, I want to take my wife along with me this time and she has never been to the US
My wife's sister stays in US along with her family and they are Green card holders
What is the best way to apply for my wife's B2 visa ?

Options
1) Should i take visa interview date along with myself for my B1 visa and my wife for B2 visa and show her as dependent, without any reference of her sister ?
OR
2) Should I get an invitation letter from her sister and tell her to process B2 using that invitation letter on her own?

She will have to get regular visitors visa (B2 visa). The procedure is just like normal visitors visa applicaiton.
