I got my Greencard in 2014 in NYC based on being married to a US citizen. Right now, I'm still a permanent resident, still living in NYC ( 10 years Green card holder ). We had been living separately since 2016 because he was too addicted to COKE. I tried to persuade him to quit but he did not so I chose to move out. Since I moved out, he told me to file tax single. So I listened to him and filing tax SINGLE in filling status since 2016. I tried to get a divorce with him in 2016 but he did not want to until now Sep 2020 he told me to apply to get an UNCONTESTED divorce.
