Hi there,
My fiancé is Canadian and currently holds a J1 visa. I am also Canadian with an F1 visa, but I want to obtain a J2 visa, and I was told by marrying him that this would be possible.
If we marry in New York (NY), is it possible for me to get the J2 status?
Or do we have to go back to Canada and marry there, then he travels back to the U.S., and I travel after him?
Also, if we get married, what is the process to apply for the visa?
