Hello all,
my husband was a J-1 exchange student 10 years ago. Since he completed the program, he has spent a cumulative 742 days in his "home" country. (I say "home" because it's actually his country of permanent residence which had the agreement with the US government, and not his country of nationality).
Most old information says that the requirement can be fulfilled using cumulative days. However, I spoke with a lawyer who says that's not the case anymore. I'm literally in the middle of submitting our immigration application, so I was hoping someone had an update on that for me.
