Hello,
I am currently on J1 visa valid until October 31st, 2024. I would like to change my status to F2 (change date: December 1st 2020). I found in the instruction manual "If approved, your change of status will occur on the date your current nonimmigrant status ends, the date of approval, or the requested date, whichever occurs later". I am a bit confused . Does it mean I would not be approved a change of status date in December, 2020 and have to wail till 2024? Could anyone please clarify?
