Extension of ds-2019 while j1 waiver pending at dos

Hi,
I applied for J1 waiver stage III, and my application has been pending for the past 5 months. My contract will expire in October 2022. Given the time constraints, it appears that I will not be able to obtain the waiver in time to change my status. Now I'm considering getting the J1 extension, which will give me some time to adjust the status. I'm a little concerned that if I get the new DS-2019, I'll have to go through the J1 waiver process again. or it isn't required. Is there anything else I should be concerned about if I get the extension while my waiver is still pending? Does anyone did the extension while waiver application is pending at the DOS?

Hi,
I am also in the same situation. My J1 waiver is still pending and my DS2019 will expire on June 28, 2023. If I do DS extension now, will it affect my existing waiver processing? Could anybody give an expert opinion?
