F1 to J1
I am studying for my Phd in USA right now.I arrived in US about a month ago on F1 visa with my husband who is on F2 visa.We want to apply for a change of status from F1/F2 to J1/J2 so that my husband can study parttime.The international students officer said that we do possess all requirements to change the status but the timing might be a problem.Will applying to change the status immidiately after arriving in US affect the chances of acceptance?how long do we have to delay in that case?
