Changing employer possible?
Hello,
Just started an internship (Trainee) in the US. They pay me only 800 USD per month and my Visa is for 18 months (no 2 year rule). I arrived 1 week ago looking for a studio but everything was over my budget.
So today was my first day at the Internship. My agency said they should give me a written agreement and pay taxes. The boss said he will not pay taxes and just give me a cheque each month, and also not stick to the training plan but use me as a normal worker. Also i wont get a contract.
I feel very used there and want to leave as soon as possible, also going to work and back takes me 4 hours in total by public transport. When i asked about coming earlier and leave earlier as it is rush hour because of the buses my boss said he doesnt care and i have to be spot on at 9 and leave spot on at 5pm. Also the money is not enough and wont last me for 18 months. But I dont want to loose my status and dont want to leave the US already. Can i change to another employer if i find one?
If not can i at least change back to a visitor visa B2 as i already rented an appartment for 1 year!? How can i change status?
