Hi,
My Wife's Indian company started processing her H1B (Consular processing) in Mid of May'2012 when we were in India, during that time my H1B stamping was on hold (due to 221g). I got my H1B and Wife's H4 visa stamped on 31-May-2012, which is valid till Aug-2014. I traveled to US on Jul-04-12 alone on H1B visa. My Wife had to stay in India to finish project with current company who filed her H1B visa. Now her H1B approval is still pending, not sure when will it be approved. I have few queries:
Can she travel on H4 visa which is valid till Aug-2014?
If she travel to US now on H4 and once her H1 is approved, can her company apply for Change of status in US?
Does she need to travel back to India for H1 Visa stamp?
How much "Change of status" cost to company if they apply after H1 approval in US.
Is there any risk involved to travel to US on H4 visa (before getting H1 approval, as her H1 was filed when she was in India)?
