Work not started on H1 visa, am i out of status?

What problems do i face if i start my job from next week,will i face difficulties when i extend my visa ?

Down the line whenever you extend your H1 or apply for a change of status to another visa, or file GC you might get an RFE to prove that you maintained H1 status throughout your H1 tenure. Since you will not able to provide payslips for the period when you didnt get paid they might deny the extension/change of status or GC.

Hi,

I came to US on H4 visa & got H1 visa with Change Of Status on October 1st 2012. But i did not start my work yet,meaning i dont have Appointment letter and will not get payslip for this month. How long can i stay without doing Job & without having any payslips ?
