H4 Stamping - Is xerox copy of H1B(Spouse) approval notice (I-797) sufficient ?

Hi,

My spouse is in USA on H1B visa. I have to go for H4 stamping in India.
Do I need to have original copy of his H1 I-797 copy required or its xerox copy is sufficient ?

Also, please let me know, list of other documents required.

Copy is sufficient but having the original is better.
