Vancouver H1 & H4 visa stamping

Hi All,
Can anyone post there recent experience in Vancouver CA regarding H1&H4 stamping?
Q1) will they give passport back on the same date if visa is rejected?
Q2) can I go to my home country and follow up the case from there?
Q3)I have interview on Monday morning , can I get my passport back by Friday if visa is approved?
