  • H1B going on vacation to india

    Hi,

Recently i came to US on H1B and i will be going to india on feb for some vacation. Having following queries regarding my travel.

1)Whether i have to again fill up the I-94 when i am entering to US after my vacation. My current I94 is having the end date to SEP2014.
2)Planning to bring my spouse and kid on H4 while coming back.do i need to fill any specific form in port of entry?
    3) Do i need to take care of anyother stuffs.

Note:I have applied for the SSN and its in progress and i have submitted my I9 as well through my employer.

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Every time one leaves US (except for small duration to neighboring countries such as Canada/Mexico) one has to surrender all the I-94 in ones possession at the Port of Exit to the Airlines officials. When you re enter US you would fill the I-94 again and would be given a new I-94 date at the Port of Entry when you return.
    2. Do they already have H4 stamped in their passports? If yes, then nothing extra needs to be filled, yes of course you would need to fill separate I-94 for them at the Port of Entry.
    3. Carry the same set of documents which you did when you entered first on H1. Latest payslips, Dependents passports, do carry in your marriage certificate, child immunization records (will be required for school admission if old enough). Read aroud immihelp https://www.immihelp.com/h4-dependent-visa/

This is my opinion not legal advice.
