I have a related question on this. If all goes well then I will get H1B for around 2.5 years as I have stayed around 3.5 years already in L1. If I travel Oct 2013 then the clock will not reset as I moved out of US on 30 Nov 2012. In that case I think I have to mandatorily stay out of US for 1 year. However instead of travelling in Oct 2013 if I travel in Jan 2014 i.e. after more than 12 months staying out of US then does the clock get reset and I don't need to come out of US after 2.5 years?
I dont think it works that way. You have to wait until you have been out of the United States for the full year before you can apply for fresh H1 petition. As you left US on 30 Nov 2012, in my opinion, if you apply for H1 after 30 Nov 2013 then you would be eligible for fresh 6 Years.
