  • H1 Transfer Approved, but expiring early

    Hi,

I work for a company A and I have a valid i797 till Jan 2015. Now that I decided to switch company and move to Company B. I have my H1 transfer completed successfully, but got the i797 approved only till Jan 2014.

I have a couple of question around this topic

    1. Any idea why did it happen this way?
    2. If I decided not to join Company B and continue with Company A, will I be eligible to stay in Company A till Jan 2015?

Do any one face similar cases before? Info on similar case helps highly

    2. If I decided not to join Company B and continue with Company A, will I be eligible to stay in Company A till Jan 2015? -- Yes.

    See above.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
