  • L1B to H1B transfer when H1B was earlier approved

    Hi,

I have gone through the forums and am not able to find a relevant answer for my curious case.

I have my H1B approved earlier this year through an employer.
Now, my present employer is willing to send me to US but insists on going through L1B.
If I agree and go to US in L1B, I get that my approved H1B will be cancelled.
Then, once I am in the US, if I want to switch jobs, I will need H1B.
Will my earlier H1B help in this case?
Should I look for an employer who again processes H1B or will I be considered with the help of earlier H1B (even though I would be in L1B visa in US at that time)?
If the answer is that my earlier H1B will help, then how long will the process take to convert from L1B to H1B?
Will it take the entire 6 months or is it faster?

Experts, please help in clarifying this.
This is the most important question for me based on which I have to decide my future course of action.

Thanks a lot in advance for helping me out..

    Regards,
    Polls.
