In 7th Yr. H1-B extension. Question about which consulate to go for stamping.

Hi All,

I've a question related to the consulate for visa stamping for my 7th yr. H1-B extension.

My H1-B was issued from Mumbai consulate. Since at that time I was working for a company based in Mumbai.

I'm a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi consulte is quite close to my home town.

I was wondering if I could go to Delhi consulate for H1-B stamping for 7th yr extension, even though the original H1-B was issued from Mumbai consulate.

Hi,
The consulate that you attend depends upon the place of residence/employment at the time of attending the interview. In your case therefore, you can go to the Delhi Consulate. The stamped Passport will be sent to the address in UP (which should also be mentioned in the DS 156).
