H1-transfer with new employer

Hi,
I am on H1-B and I have resigned from my current employer and my last day with current employer

is 3rd May. I am in the process of applying for my H1-B transfer to the new employer(Employer-

Vendor-Client company) with a vendor letter.Initially my start date was 6th May.But now vendor is

telling it may be delayed by day or two, somehow i fear it may get further delayed.I have

following queries:

1) If my new company applies for H1 transfer with a vendor letter and if i lose that project

before joining.What options do I have to stay in US legally.Please note my current employer is a

mnc and will notify USCIS immediately after my release date.

Please give me suggestions asap.
