H1 B Visa extended - not stamped

Hi,

Please help me in getting answer.

I have got my visa extension till next year i.e., Jan 2014. Now im in India. This visa is applied by my earlier company and im no longer associated with that company.
Can i apply for US jobs? Will any company take me and so that i can go for stamping and join that company by travelling there?

Can you also please let me know if there will be any time frame within that i have to travel.. coZ my visa extension is till jan 14.

The petition can be filed within up to 6 years following the current petition expiry. Immediate start date can be requested since the petition is cap-exempt. On approval you can obtain an H1 Visa (or use the one in your passport if any and if valid) and then travel to US to work for the new employer.
