H1B transfer without proper details

Hi... I have a valid H1B visa, valid till 2015. However because currently no onsite opportunity available at my client, My current company not ready to send me onsite. I don't have my receipt number. Can I still apply for H1 transfer to other company since I am now planning to switch to other company. Will my new employer be able to apply for my H1 transfer even without knowing receipt number.
I want to know what information related to H1 visa is needed for transfer?

No, you cannot transfer H1 without the receipt number. You need one of the two, either the receipt number or the 797.
