How to extend I-94 with valid H1B visa?

Hi all,

My current I-94 expire on Dec 2013, because my old passport will be expired on Dec 2013. However, my H1B visa will expire on Oct 2014.
Now I got a new passport (expire on Dec 2018).
How can I update or extend my I-94 without leaving US? USCIS I-593 (Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status) will work for me? Please advise.

Go to nearest CBP office and see if they would do it there. Else I539 is the only other way if you dont want to leave US.

I539 cannot be used to extend H1B status. The employer will have to file petition amendment to extend your status.

I agree Kabkaba, every L1 or H1 I539 request has to have an associated I129 too.
