Urgent International Travel required during H1b transfer

Hi gurus,

I work for company A and have a valid h1b till dec 2013. I have an offer from company b and they will file my h1b on jul 2. On jul 8 company A wants me to travel internationally on work till jul 13.

What should I do?

1. i want to get my h1b approval via company B before I tell company A.
2. And people will get too suspicious if I do not do the trip.

Question - can I travel out and come into US on jul 13 while my new h1b is in process in USCIS ?

Separately, as an FYI, I have an ead,ap document.

Just wanted to weigh in my risks.

Advisable to file Transfer only after returning back from your trip as I-94 would have changed.

One issue that is forcing me is that the new organization is pressurising the joining date too.

So, wanted to understand that in the worst case if I have to go for the application now, what issues will possibly happen. Is not it true that these 2 h1b are completely separate and the second one is not in effect till I actually use it? Just wanted to understand what can go wrong - issue on POE or something in GC.
