I was working for my employer on H1B until I resigned my job in Feb 2013.
I changed my status to L2 (as my husband is on L1 valid until Mar 2014) while resigning my job.
Now I am planning to look for a job preferably on H1B rather than L2 EAD (I do not have L2 EAD as of now).
My H1B petition is valid until 30-Jul-2013 that is just 27 more days.
1) Is it possible to apply for H1B extension under cap exempt as my H1B petition is still valid until 30-Jul-2013?
2) If yes, then is it too late to apply for extension as it is valid only for 27 more days?
3) What happens if my H1B extension is rejected? Can I retain my L2 status and continue to stay in US? Or do I need to go out of US?
