  • H1B - 2014 - Approval received for one year

Hi all, I got the approval for one year only under 2014 cap. Validity starting from 1st Oct 13 to 30 Sep 2014. I am not sure why it is only for one year.
    1) I am planning for stamping immediatly. But if my dependents go for stamping on March 2014, what will be their end date on the stamping? Will it be March 2015 (One year) or 30 Sep 2014?
    2) If my employer files for an extension, do I have to come back to India for stamping again?

    TIA

-- It is because your employer could only show a job available for 1 year. (Generally, the duration of client contract in case of consulting companies)

-- No, they can file the petition including extension of stay.

Many thanks for the clarification. I am now planning to for stamping along with dependents. Is it a good idea for them to have stamping now and travel after 4-5 months? Will the VO question about their delayed travel?

      TIA
