H4 Visa and traveling

Hello,

My wife is on H4 visa getting expired in December 2013 and she is traveling India for September and october-2013. I heard that it's not recommended to travel when your current visa is about to end, is that true ? Just let you know that my company is applying for an extension in meantime for me and her. Please advise.

There is no problem with her travel plans.

However, she should apply for her extension of status after she returns.
