H1B stamping - petition not found

I went for H1 stamping interview at Chennai US Consulte on 5th Aug. The visa officer took my passport, I797 and client letter from me. The only question he asked me is what is my academic qualication. Then he spent some time staring at the monitor and punching keyboard, finally said 'There is a small problem - I can't pull your petition here - You'll hear back from us in a business day'. I asked how would I track the status, he said no need to track, we will email or SMS you. That's it - no pink, blue or white slip. So far, heard nothing. Online status shows 'Administrative Processing', which is defintely concerning. What does it man? is it gone in a black hole?

It is probably a PIMS database thing. It should be resolved fairly quickly. (A week or two is likely).

Thanks kabkaba. Is it normal to reflect the visa application online status as 'Admin Processing' in such a case even and when no pink/blue/white was issued.
