H1B - Between jobs

I have got approval for my H1 transfer to my new employer. My new employer asked me to join on Aug 23rd where as I am getting relieved from my current employer on Aug 6th. So after the H1 transfer I have a 2 weeks gap in between the jobs. I94 is valid till 2015. Is it legal for me to stay in the US during this period? Quick responses are appreciated.

That is not right. You will be out of status during that period. A few days or a weekend is acceptable gap but 2 weeks may be a little too much. It is better if you can change the dates.
