  • Visa Stamping after Extension

    Hi Senior Members,
I got my visa extension after the initial 3yr. (valid till Dec. 2006). I will be travelling to India this December.
Do I have to go to the US Embassy in India to get my and my spouse's visa stamping (H1 & H4) or can I do it here in the US only.
If I need to get visa stamping in India than what papers do I need to carry with me for the same and also do we need to get our fingerprinting done also in India.
How much in advance do I need to get an appointment at Delhi for the same.

Thanks for any help in this regard.

    Mohit.

You will have to go to embassy in India. There is no facility in US.
Process and paper work is same. Revalidation cases get priority appointment.

      Hi Mohit,
You can take an emergency appointment at Delhi consulate as you will qualify for the same as a returning worker who has to report for duty.
Procedure for stamping is much the same as a new H1 and H4, except that you will have to provide pay-slips, bank-balance, employment confirmation letter, W2s, etc from US.
