Does L1 and H4 stay in USA count for H1 max 6 years?

My L1 is getting expired on Oct 15, 2013. [5 years max period]
I will be staying in USA on H4 after Oct 15, 2013 and want to apply for H1 visa next year [2014].
Does my H4 stay in USA, count for H1 - 6 year max period? If so, I may not be able stay in USA after Oct 15, 2014. Is this true?

The H4 time will not be added but you will get H1 only for 1 Year as L1+H1 can be for max 6 Years. So you will get H1 from Oct 2014 till Oct 2015.

I have another 2 follow up questions on this.

1. If I have my I-140 approved now, will I get my initial H1 for 3 years starting from October 2014?

2.If my I-140 is approved with Employer A, can I file my H1 with employer B and use this approved I-140 [of employer A] and get H1 visa for 3 years?

Yes, extension beyond 6 years can be requested based on the approved I-140.
