  • L1 visa to H1 visa

I am currently with employer A on L1-B visa. I have got a H1-B visa from a new employer with an approval date of "1-Oct" [change of status of I-94]
Can I continue to work with Employer A till December and then change to employer B and work with the H1-B visa starting December.

Rather, Does my approval date of 1-Oct on my H1-B mean that I strictly have to leave my employer A on Oct 1st and join employer B ?

I get mixed feedback when I asked friends around. Any valuable suggestion is highly appreciated

    Regards,
    babu

    Hi Babu,
Since you are already in the US, you can start work for the H1B company as soon as the company has even filed for your H1B. The Oct 1 date will apply only to those who travel from outside US. In fact if you have got your new I 94, it means that your petition for change of status was also filed and approved, so you ought to be working on H1B now.

Veena is Right! if you don't you will be out of status.
