Query regarding US formalities in H1b Extension
Hi,
I traveled to US some time back for the first time.
By the time I got my I-94, the federal shutdown happened and I could not apply for a SSN.
Meanwhile my I-94 expired and my H1b was filed for extension.
I do have the H1b extension receipt and I-129. Hence I can still work in US
In the meantime I've to travel back to my country and this extension processing would go on in its own pace.
My queries -
1. Can I apply for a SSN with the above documents?
2. If cannot get a SSN, Can I at-least file for my US tax returns without a SSN? If yes, what documents I need to furnish and to whom?
