H-2b is this the correct visa for me???

Hi,

I'm a 26 year old design engineer from England, UK and im looking at applying for contract work in America. in my industry, typical contracts are 3 - 6 months but possibly longer.

Is a H-2B visa the correct visa for me? if so what is the process?

Do i apply for a visa before i apply for any contract work or vice versa???

Any help would be greatly appreciated
