  • F-1 stamp Expired, Can H1-B be stamped in Mexico?

I first came to Usa on F-1 in 1999 and went back to visit in summer of 2001 on that visa.
Since since early 2002 upto November 2002 I have been on OPT and after that in Nov 02 I had my H1-B approved with that same company (company-A)
In Nov 2003 I have took up another job and been with it since. and hence have H1-B on this company (company-B) currently.

I do not have H1-B visa stamp on my passport. I would like to know if I can go to Mexico for stamping (Nuevo Laredo/ Matamoros). If visa gets rejected can I use my current I-797 and re-enter US to gather my things?

Please give me any info that you may think is helpful...

    Thanks in advance.

    Mr. Huynh,

Would you know if I will be able to reenter Usa with my current valid I-797, if indeed, for unfortunate reasons, my h1-b visa gets rejected. (my f-1 stamp has long expired and do not have h1-b visa stamp so far on my passport)

    Thanks.
