Hi everyone,
Thanks in advance for your help. Here is my situation:
I am currently working for company A and they recently applied for my H1B extension and got approved. I have validity until 2016 but will have to renew my visa stamp to reflect the extension so that I can travel abroad.
I recently got a job offer from Company B which is going to transfer my H1B over to them but my start date isn't until May 2014. I am envisioning the H1B transfer to be done by end of Feb 2014 and would like to travel back home (Asia) in March 2014. Will I be able to apply for a new visa stamp without having started my new job yet? If so, what additional documents would I need to strengthen my application?
In addition to the above crinkle, Company A is currently in the process of applying for a green card for me but based on what the lawyers have told me, it seems pretty early in the process. The lawyer also said that the green card application is currently in recruitment stages of the PERM process and will have no impact on my travel. Will this impact my H1B transfer to Company B? Will I still be able to travel?
